Here you go - photos from Banksy vs The Bristol Museum show. The exhibition looks massive - somewhere near 100 pieces (paintings, statues, animatronics and installations), it was put up in under 48 hours, and none of the work is for sale. He bent the environment of the museum to his work, installing statues where classic sculptures would be, and animatronic animals where the museum had nature dioramas. Impressive work. All photos brought to us by NYC’s own Sabeth718.
Promo video for the Banksy vs The Bristol Museum show, opening tomorrow, June 12, 2009. From what we’ve seen its a massive 100(?) installations. Running daily through the end of August, free admission, and none of the work is for sale.
Banksy’s quote on the billboards to Gothamist.com: ”I wanted to play the corporations at their own game, at the same scale and in the same locations. The advantage of billboard companies is that they’ll let you write anything for money, even if what you write is questioning the ethics of letting someone write anything because they have money.”
Photos of the pet store interior will be coming in a few days – we’re trying not to spoil the inside for the locals. Outside photos here.
