We’re late in posting, but this was great! Photos from the opening of By Any Means Necessary at the Brooklynite Gallery. We loved that they involved kids from the community and did an art workshop for the show, and that they’re raising money for local arts charities. Fantastic. All the work looked great, and we missed the band, but heard they drew such a crowd they shut down the street!
By Any Means Necessary at Brooklynite Gallery - opening photo slideshow loading - it will appear here when its done!
The show is closing this Saturday, May 30, so get over there! More photos on the Brooklnite flickr page.

We checked out the workshop for the upcoming kids show at Brooklynite Gallery, By Any Means Necessary, and it looks great. Kids were having a fun time and they were doing awesome work - we definitely dug the collaborations they set up for this. They also just got Amy Sedaris to contribute to the show! Swing by the opening this Saturday, May 16 from 11AM to 6PM. Show runs through May 30.
By Any Means Necessary - Kids Art Exhibition
Some kids get help with glue gunning - they had a lot of people helping out

Citing that, “his next New York show needs to be a solo”, Anthony Lister has decided to back out of his scheduled 2 person exhibition with UK legend SICKBOY. The exhibition which was titled, “THE GUILT THAT KEEPS ON GIVING” was slated for May 16 here at Brooklynite Gallery. With less than a month until the scheduled opening, SICKBOY has opted to not rush to complete enough work for a solo exhibition. In which case this show has been POSTPONED. WE sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused some of you that had already made travel arrangements. Any further questions or comments should be directly sent to Mr. Lister: ANTHONYLISTER.com
We really feel for Sickboy and the gallery on this one, given Lister’s reason and that he dropped out just a few weeks before the show was to open. That’s… ugly. But we’re very happy to see that Sickboy will show at a later date. Instead Brooklynite will be running By Any Means Neccessary - a kids exhibition featuring some collaborations with Sickboy, Joe Black, Pure Evil, Miss Bugs, Ludo, Dain, K-Guy and Peru Ana Ana Peru. Look for a post on that in a bit.
We actually picked up a postcard at the gallery just before the news came in — never to be seen:
