Private Property, Public Ideas: Street Art in Transition is a panel taking place at the SCOPE Art Fair on Sunday, March 8. There’s a screening of Bomb It just before. Its moderated by Carlo McCormick (editor of Paper magazine) with Pedro Alonzo (Independent Curator), Ron English, Steve Powers (aka ESPO), and Marc and Sara Schiller (of Wooster Collective) on the panel. Admission for the fair is $15 ($10 for students). Visit the SCOPE site for more info. This is curated by Jonathan Levine, who will be featuring Camille Rose Garcia at the fair.
Brazillian Stephan Doitschinoff, aka Calma, has a show opening at Jonathan Levine Gallery this Saturday, November 22. The show runs through December 20, and Shag will be showing simultaneously. I’m also excited to see he has a new book out entitled Calma: The Art of Stephan Doitschinoff. The book is retailing for US$65 and you should definitely check out the preview. Update: Stephan Doitschinoff is doing a book signing from 6-7pm, immediately followed by the opening at Jonathan Levine.
